SMMo started back in July of 2009 when Barry started the LinkedIn group at that time called ‘Social Media UK’, and running the first few networking events which went from strength to strength. By early 2010 ‘SMUK’ was building momentum and a gathering off 100+ where attending and contributing every month to the community blog.

With ambition for more, a passion for the social media and fascination for bringing online conversation of a community to offline events Barry went about re-branding ‘SMUK’ and growing a network of fellow SMMo’ers to extend the community internationally and build an internationally known platform for discussion about Social Media – online AND offline…!
